Your choice
Join research
Sign in, review the current raw-data consent, and accept it before a signed-in task starts. Eligible task events upload to the encrypted research archive.
Continue locally
Use Sia without a cloud account. Local-only records never become eligible for later research upload.
What the research records
The complete activity Sia observes can include exact prompts, replies, surfaced reasoning, commands and output, tool arguments and results, approvals, errors, file paths and diffs, browser and computer activity, and captured images visible inside the task surface.
Raw task content can contain private information or secrets. It is not anonymous. Use research mode only with material you agree to share.
What stays outside the capture surface
Sia does not intentionally obtain provider credentials, Chrome cookies, Keychain contents, secure fields, private-window contents, or hidden authentication surfaces. This reduces exposure, but task-visible content can still contain sensitive information.
Who can review it
Authorized research administrators can inspect individual raw turns. Archive access requires administrator membership and multi-factor authentication. Every administrator read writes an immutable metadata-only audit record.
How long it stays
- Cloud research content expires after 90 days.
- Immutable research access audit metadata is retained for 365 days and expires after 400 days.
- Local records roll off after 90 days or earlier when the encrypted store reaches 128 MB or 500 batches.
How it is used
Researchers use the records to evaluate complete agent behavior, debug failures, improve safety and usability, and operate the alpha. Research data is not used for model training under the current policy.
Connected apps
Gmail, Google Drive, Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Slides, and Slack are optional. Each has its own provider consent page and can be disconnected independently. Provider data is read live only when a task needs it and is not bulk copied into Sia.
Content returned into a task can become part of the raw research record when research mode is enabled.
Your controls
- Turn capture off where available or sign out to stop new eligible capture.
- Export local and cloud research records.
- Request research-only deletion or full Sia account deletion.
- Disconnect each connected service independently.
Pending eligible uploads are not silently discarded only because capture is turned off or you sign out. Deleting a Sia account does not delete source data held by connected providers.
